week 1 day 2 (Round 2)

Today was a good day! I ate less than 2000 calories, I exercised for 26 minutes and I have work lined up for tomorrow. I remember how frustrating it was when I started back last August, to get a consistant schedule going and to actually make a list of things that I needed to get done, then to do them. It was very hard, but structure works well for me!

So within these next two weeks, I need to make a list of things to get done, for example
- take measurements
- set goals
- set rewards
- plan meals
- look for jobs (apply for 1 job everyday)
- set up a cooking and grocery shopping schedule

I'm sure I have many more things that I need to do, but I'm sleepy and I'm ready to log off for now.

I will survive!

It has been so many months since I've logged my food, blogged, or even exercised consistantly. The great thing is that this can change at any time. I started today, June 1, 2010, again, but I will keep doing this until I get it right. I ate pretty good today, but most importantly, I walked, and I tracked everything that I ate in sparkpeople. I'll be back again tomorrow, but I know that I will survive and come out of this battle victorious.

Now tracking with my Bodybugg - from Jan. 25, 2010

I have finally figured out how to capture my bodybugg image so that I can post it online. Here goes. This first one is from Monday. As you can see, I don't log my calories into their system, because it takes a little too long. I am currently supposed to be buring 3400 calories daily, but I did only 3067 on this day. My digital display rolled into the river, so I am awaiting the new one, because that really helps me to stay on track with my activity level.

The first real fitness day of the year

While gyms and fitness centers love this time of the year, because they can expect people to run into their facilities in droves this first week, but they end up signed up for 12 months or more for something that will phase out in the next 3 weeks.

But the real question is how can we make sure this fitness thing does not get old. I thought about it over the past few days and I came up with a few ideas.

1. Set fitness goals, not just weight loss goals because getting your body into shape will transfer into fewer pounds on the scale.

2. Get involved an activity that is exciting to you. Or if you are like me and want to dance (ballet, modern), then set goals that will get you in better shape before you get involved in that activity.

3. Focus on the foods that you need to eat more of when you get started, instead of focusing on all of the foods that you are not supposed to eat. For instance, we all know that we are supposed to get at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday, but most American's don't even get 3. So instead of spending the first few weeks being frustrated and feeling deprived of food, focus on getting your 5 fruits and veggies everyday for the first week or two and then go from there.

New Year, with things falling into place

Although I got a little off track with my resolve to rid myself of the extra weight last year, I am realizing how many things I have accomplished. I completed another semester of classes that I needed to become a dietitian, and at the end of April, I should be finished with my course requirements and that is extremely exciting.

I am not making any resolutions for 2010. I want to eat better more days than I eat bad and I will set workout and calorie goals, and that equation will equal me losing weight. I'll be back to posting on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010!!!

It has been a long time

It has been such a long time since I posted anything. I am nowhere near the end of my journey, but I started school and really just had to put all of my focus on school. I have one more semester until I finish my classes. I'm becoming a dietitian, but one of my biggest concerns has been that I feel like I need to have everything together before I can be successful in my career.

Fortunately, I have not gained much weight, it just seems like my body proportions have redistributed. I have decided to go to youtube.com for support and accountability, so I'll be refocusing my efforts in 2010. WOW, I can't believe that we will be in a new decade in just a few days. But I'll be back and need support from you guys to stay focused.

Talk to you in a few days!
Smooches!!

Week 6 Day 2 No internet connection

So, I have not been online for over a week, due to moving and getting the internet turned off, but now I'm back. I have missed 2 weigh ins but at the end of week 4, I lost 3.4 pounds and at the end of week 5, I've lost 2 pounds. So that is a total 21. 4 pounds in 5 weeks. I'll be back soon to check in again!
